ICMFS Council Meeting: A Confluence of Minds

The International Council of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ICMFS) held a council meeting on the 13th of October, 2023. The meeting took place at the Breakfast Hall of the Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard, commencing at 7:00 AM.

Attendance

The meeting was graced by the presence of esteemed members of the council, including Vice Presidents Dr. Chingiz Rahimov and Dr. Igor Reshetov, Secretary Prof. Balaji SM, and councillors Dr. Evgeniy Choinzokov, Dr. Sajjad Walji, Dr. Nik Kantaputra, Dr. Jean-Paul Meningaud, Dr. Ivana Petrovic, Prof. Mustafa, and Dr. Robert A. Ord. The invitees included Dr. Mohammad Sartawi, President of the Jordanian Association of OMFS, and Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Warraich, President of the Pakistan Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons. The special invitees for the meeting were long-time ICMFS well-wisher Prof. Jatin Shah and Prof. Manlio Galie, from EACMFS leadership.

Deliberations

A lot of healthy and constructive deliberation took place during the day. Turkish councillor Prof. Mustafa, as the Turkish Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons President, conferred a special “ICMFS Guest Society session” in their forthcoming meeting and confirmed that a main hall will be provided. He extended an invitation to the entire house for the meeting and offered discounts on registration to ICMFS members.

Subsequently, the members and invitees provided feedback, critical reviews, and suggestions for increasing the base of the ICMFS, enriching its academic and networking activities. The rich exchange of ideas formed the basis for the future direction and growth of this organization, which has been in existence for over 50 years.
